Jaylene Lemus
Dear Crockett Elementary Families,
It is with great excitement and enthusiasm that I welcome you to a new school year at Crockett Elementary! As your Assistant Principal, I am honored to serve this vibrant community of learners, educators, and families.
My journey in education began at the University of Texas at Austin, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Learning and Development. Driven by a passion for leadership and inclusive education, I pursued a Master of Science in Educational Management from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving in various special education classrooms, experiences that have profoundly shaped my commitment to fostering an environment where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
At Crockett, we proudly uphold the identity of the Crusaders, embracing "Excellence is the Standard." We believe that excellence is not just an aspiration but a daily practice, enriched through collaboration, perseverance, and a shared commitment to continuous growth.
As we embark on this academic year, I am eager to partner with you to create a nurturing and dynamic learning environment. Together, we can ensure that our students not only meet but exceed their potential, embodying the spirit that defines our Crusader legacy.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children's education. I look forward to a year filled with growth, achievement, and shared successes.

Welcome to Crockett Elementary!
Dear Crockett Elementary Families,
I am honored and grateful to join the Crockett Elementary family as one of your Assistant Principals. From the moment I learned about Crockett's commitment to students and the belief that "Excellence is the Standard," I knew it was a special place. I am excited for the upcoming school year and look forward to getting to know each of the students, families, and staff who make this school such a wonderful community.
I began my career in education as a teacher and cheer coach at Horace Mann Junior School. Over the years I have had the privilege to serve in several positions in Goose Creek CISD and a neighboring district. My experience includes being a teacher, technology integration specialist, and campus administrator. Beyond the classroom, I have coached cheer, robotics, and swim as well as served as the yearbook sponsor. In addition, I have served on the Goose Creek CISD SHAC (School Health Advisory Council).
I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, and an Associate’s Degree in Social Sciences from San Jacinto College. I also hold the National Certification for STEM Teaching.
I am passionate about building positive relationships with students and families and believe that strong partnerships are key to student success. I look forward to celebrating achievements, supporting growth, and working together to ensure every child has an exceptional educational experience.
Thank you for welcoming me to the Crockett community. I am truly excited to be here and look forward to a fantastic year together as we continue to make Crockett a place where Excellence is the Standard.
Warm regards,
Deanna Marsalis
